Upcoming PTO Meeting
The next DMS PTO meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18th, at 7:00 PM, at the Giant Eagle Waterworks Market District Café's enclosed meeting room. In addition to the usual business, we will discuss the upcoming student social, funding a recycling bin, the parenting book club, and the possible formation of a PTO steering committee. The meeting will run approximately one hour. Please join us to contribute your ideas and opinions!
Purchase Your Chance to Win Awesome Raffle Baskets!
Raffle baskets are currently on display with tickets available for purchase during the school store's open hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch time. The baskets will also be on display during the parent teacher conferences on November 6 and 7 and before the DMS Musical (and during intermission) on November 16, 17, and 18. The baskets will be awarded during the intermission of the November 18 show.
The Yearbook Club is looking for pictures of students in school, participating in sports, performing in concerts, and attending special events.
The HJeShare is a simple way to upload pictures for yearbook consideration. Go to www.HJeShare.com and enter DMS (all capitals) as the school code and follow the directions from there. Questions or comments can be directed to Maryjo_montgomery@fcasd.edu.
There will be a fundraiser for the Fox Chapel Dare Program on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Indiana Township Building. It looks like a great way to get together with a few friends for the afternoon while raising money for a program in our school district. See the following flyers for more details.
Updated Information About Clearances
There is a new document on the www.fcasd.edu homepage with frequently asked questions (and answers) about clearances for parents to be able to volunteer in the Fox Chapel Area School District. The documents about volunteering are also in two other places. They are located under each school's tab --> Resources --> District Info and under the parent portal. In order to volunteer for many events at DMS, you will need to have your clearances. Once you have them, they are good for five years. If you already have them, you do not need to do anything until five years have passed since you first obtained your clearances.

Sign Up to Staff the School Store
We continue to need volunteers (with clearances) to sign up for a Tuesday or Thursday lunch-time session in the coming weeks and months to run the school store. Currently we need someone (or two) for 10/31, 11/14, 11/21, and 11/30. In addition to selling tickets for the raffle baskets, the school store carries many student essentials including locks, pencils, notebooks, gym shirts, and more.
Vie for a team prize and earn money for our school just by turning in some otherwise worthless cardboard rectangles! Box Tops collection continues until Friday, October 27th.
Please send in your non-expired Box Tops with your student and they can put them in the Box Top collection box in the main entryway.
Please label with the grade and team because this year there is a contest between the teams in each grade. The team that brings in the most Box Tops in 6th, 7th and 8th grade (for the year) will win a prize.
